Environment ˜a

Japanese

With gratitude for, and the protection of, the environment.

Here is Shirotori-Cho in Kagawa, lies the seat of NAIGAI in a town which is surrounded by greenery. Nestled near the Asan Mountains in the background, it faces towards the Sea of Harima in the glittering Seto Inland Sea and is blessed with warm weather and a good environment.

Shigoshi Beach is in the North-Eastern part of the town and is a scenic and beautiful beach of the area?Shirotori Beach on the west side of Shigoe beach with pines that spread towards the north side of the Shirotori Shrine and is called?Shirotori Pine Wood because there are pines and white sand for about 1 kilometer from the East to the West.

It is well known as a place of scenic beauty in Kagawa. There are many aspects if its beauty that are carefully conserved and preserved.

There is a legend about the Shirotori Shrine that says that the spirit of Yamato-no-Takeru-no-Miko landed there once as a swan.

The Shirotori Shrine is crowded with many worshippers and is still regarded as the main place of belief in the Eastern part of Sanuki (Kagawa) in contrast with the Konpira San Shrine located to the West.

Herefs the residence of the Inokuma Clan historically noted in connection with Mitsukuni Mito and is a treasure house of cultural assets of this town. On display is a doll of the Emperor Meji and mementos of the deceased.A national Treasure, along with local folk-lore of the Bizen Koku, letters and over 300 important cultural treasures of Mitsukuni Tokugawa and a palanquin of the Daimyo (Feudal Lord)

These days, Shirotori is well known all over Japan as a glove producing town. Shirotori has continued this tradition for over 100 years. The glove making industry has been doing well here since the Meiji Period, and now holds over ninety percent of market share. The business is also spreading overseas.

hNAIGAI Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2004h
We're working in a great environment and becoming a part of history.

Making a better working environment for our women employees.

In the present age, we are experiencing a society with fewer children and at the same time, the number of elderly are increasing. Here, we are creating an environment where women employees can have children and bring the children with them to work without any anxiety to have a full working life.

We also have built our gMaternity leavef system and our eHealth Leave systemf which allows women to raise the next generation and at the same time, develop their individual careers.

We are also planning a eReturn to Work programf in February 1996 for those workers who have taken maternity leave and health leave and are intending to return to the job site to develop their skills and their careers. We are also developing a new system of utilizing maternity leave and health services in October 1998.

Already there are two employees using these systems and raising their children in a responsible manner.
Another two will make use of the new systems in 2002.

In contemporary society where there are fewer children and an increasing number of aged people, we believe that working women are both a necessity and to keep the high standard of excellent workers means the development of good business.

Although the law will be revised soon, we would like to make every effort to cope and be flexible with the aim of being a company with the feel of a family.

gIfm a mother with one child.h

gSince I graduated from school, I have been employed at NAIGAI and have experienced marriage, pregnancy and childbirth.h

In times gone by, workers married, conceived children then resigned which was the norm. But now in order to maintain higher standards of living, women also have to work harder. Itfs not easy to combine onefs work with onefs family, but Ifm holding down both with the help of colleagues and family. I do appreciate the health care and maternity systems here at NAIGAI. At the moment there are three mothers who have pre-school age children. In the future there will be others who do the same.h

gIfve heard that there are companies which wonft let their employees take time off when their kids have a sudden fever. This isnft the case at NAIGAI.

NAIGAI offers us a place where we can work and bring up our children.

A‚” NAIGAI, There are always new challenges.

No matter what the conditions are, we are all keen on making effort to meet our own goals and support the growth of NAIGAI..

NAIGAI and its future are the collective result of our individualsfannual efforts.

In the IT revolution age isnft a factor. Everyone can feel the changes occurring in this revolution and through mutual support we can all coexist. Itfs up to us to make the most use of chances and nobody wishes to be left behind.

NAIGAI keeps on growing and although nobody knows the future, our collective approach to challenges are important. Here at NAIGAI, we think much of human relations. Despite differences in language, culture and ways of thinking people from different backgrounds can connect with one another. Human relations are basics at NAIGAI..

LANKA NAIGAI celebrates its 14th anniversary.
The preparation of comfortable housing and a comfortable atmosphere in the factories make for inventive and interesting products.

gRANJITH LIBRARYh

Work together and grow up together is our constant ethic throughout the ages.

The philosophical view of our president Mr.Tanaka is to share joy with a total absence of discrimination.
Here are the staff working for the head office in their own countries. They are the factory workers of LANKA NAIGAI our production base abroad.

The factory guidelines abroad include accident insurance covering 24 hours for all employees. A medical dispensary room on the factory premises and the hiring of expert nurses, company trips, a sports festival and trips etc.

This is our long cherished dream, to have the Ranjit Libraryf on the factory premises. It was opened in January 2002. It offers employees a significant number of books and magazines with other facilities to let employees manage things for themselves. It is well known that some developing countries cannot offer children enough education because of poverty. Sadly, sometimes basic knowledge and social morals are neglected. Its my hope that all employees will take a greater part in producing higher quality products at the plant which has ISO 9002 by increasing their knowledge through reading and of course by contributing further to society with higher levels of product quality.

Even after retirement, I hope that their knowledge will be successful for their country and act as a glittle cultural contributionh. Our facilities for rest and social interaction of employees was the result of our presidentfs wishes.
